Bryce Dallas Howard’s name has recently been mentioned in relation to the role of Sue Storm in the MCU, but is it more than a rumor?

Following the inclusion of Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, questions about how Marvel Studios plan to bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU have started becoming prominent in the minds of many fans. As always, that has reignited speculation about who could be cast as Marvel’s first family when they eventually make their imminent debut. With John Krasinski now a clear front-runner to return as the MCU’s Mr. Fantastic after his short-lived appearance as Earth-838’s Illuminati member, a number of names have been thrown in the hat regarding the casting of the Invisible Woman, including Jurassic World: Dominion star Bryce Dallas Howard.

PeraMovies News VIDEO OF THE DAY

In the last few weeks, Howard, along with Emily Blunt, have both been rumored to be in the running to play Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four. Blunt has apparently featured alongside Krasinski in images circulated with a Disney+ poll, while Dallas has been a fan favorite to join the franchise for a while. However, at a recent fan event, Howard seemed to dismiss rumors that she is preparing to become a Marvel star while signing an Invisible Woman Funko Pop figure for a fan. Asked by the fan whether she could sign the figure as she was rumored to be playing the upcoming role, Howard replied:

“Oh my God! [laughs] I don’t think it’s happening—I mean, I know [this doesn’t] involve me or anything. I swear to God, I swear to God. Yeah, yeah, for real. Total rumors. Total rumors, but you know, yeah… Thank you, but I’ll sign the [Funko] just for fun…”

She followed up by commenting that she went to college with John Krasinski, who has directed her brother-in-law in a movie, and how they are all connected and it is “a little crazy.” Whether this turns out to be just a smokescreen to divert attention away from her possible inclusion in the movie is something we will have to wait for certain.

Bryce Dallas Howard May Be Too Busy to Commit to the MCU

While there are certainly several fans who would like to see Bryce Dallas Howard appear in the MCU as Sue Storm, the actress and director currently has a lot on her plate, particularly behind the camera. While the star is currently promoting Jurassic World: Dominion and filming the movie Argylle with Henry Cavill and Sam Rockwell, Howard has recently followed her father, Ron Howard, in becoming an in-demand director, particularly in the world of Star Wars.

Howard has recently received a lot of praise for directing episodes of Disney+ series The Mandalorian, and one episode of its spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett. In fact, her foray into the world of Star Wars has been so well received, that fans have been calling for the actress to be given the reins of the Star Wars movie franchise after recent movies have split the fan base in the last several years. Having become integrated in the Star Wars franchise, the question is, will Howard want to make this her future film route, or is there still a chance that she may want to follow The Mandalorian’s creator Jon Favreau as a Marvel star.
