A new trailer for The Flash was shown at the ongoing CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, and it’s sure to make fans of Michael Keaton’s Batman very happy. The footage heavily features Keaton’s return as The Dark Knight, with Ezra Miller’s superhero recruiting him for a mission. To which Michael Keaton replies “You want to get nuts? Let’s get nuts.” Surely cheering ensued after that.

For a detailed description of the scene, we turn to’s Cam Bonomolo, who is currently present at CinemaCon. “Barry Allen fidgets in a line. He’s at work. Flash travels back outside his childhood home. In his childhood room, Blue lightning flickers around Barry,” the description begins. After looking at photographs from his childhood, a voice-over says, “’Time has a pattern. It can help deliver certain events to certain people… drawn to each other like magnets… ‘”

This is when Michael Keaton enters the scene. Dropping audiences at Wayne Manor, “we see someone with shoulder-length white hair from behind.” Keaton’s Bruce Wayne then opens a door revealing several different Batsuits, which should be another huge treat for DC fans. Of course, The Flash is due to feature two different Batman variants, and thus we are then treated to the sight of Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader in a chase with the police.

The trailer then smash cuts through several glimpses of other characters, including revealing Michael Shannon’s return as Man of Steel villain, Zod, and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, who is reportedly wearing a suit similar to that of Henry Cavill.

But forget all of that because Michael Keaton gets by far the best moment in the footage. “An unmasked Keaton is dressed as Batman, and says ‘You want to get nuts? Let’s get nuts,’” Keaton says in a shameless homage to one of his most memorable lines from the original 1989 Batman. “Title card: THE FLASH. Keaton, who now has shorter hair, has an upgraded version of the 89 Batsuit with a bold yellow emblem,” the description of the trailer ends.

The Flash Will Race into Theaters in June Next Year

The Flash, will follow in the footsteps of the MCU’s current projects, introducing audiences to the DC multiverse. Using the comic book arc “Flashpoint” as a major inspiration, The Flash finds Barry Allen traveling back in time to prevent his mother’s murder and opening up a whole can of multiversal worms as he emerges in an alternate universe. Rather than Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton is still Batman in this alternate world, with the movie set to provide fans with all manner of crowd-pleasing moments akin to Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen AKA The Flash alongside Ron Livingston, Michael Keaton, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Sasha Calle, and Ben Affleck.

The Flash has been delayed repeatedly, but the movie now has a release date of June 23, 2023. The Flash will not be the only time we see Michael Keaton suit up, with the actor also due to reprise the role for the upcoming Batgirl movie.
