With speculation of where Loki could turn up next, Tom Hiddleston has been joking that he really doesn’t know anything.

In the opening moments of Avengers: Infinity War, it looked like Tom Hiddleston’s time in the MCU was over as Loki finally met his end at the hands of Thanos. Flash forward a few years and the future for Loki is once again strangely looking bright for a dead god. With the earlier incarnation of Loki escaping custody in Avengers: Endgame to find himself caught up in the events of his own TV series, there is now a question of whether Loki will make an appearance in any future Marvel movies now a version of him is very much alive and well. With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, including many unannounced cameos, and Thor: Love and Thunder arriving this summer, there have been rumors that Loki could be seen in either of these movies.

However, Tom Hiddleston is an old hand at handling questions about Marvel movies, and when asked whether he would be making an appearance in either of these movies, he had pretty much the perfect answer. He told Total Film:

“I’m living in a question mark. It’s all unknown. You know, I used to think that I could predict these things, but I literally have no idea. And I’m not even doing an Andrew Garfield! I just don’t know.”

Of course, Andrew Garfield really did set a new bar when it comes to denying involvement in Marvel projects, still being adamant that he wasn’t in Spider-Man: No Way Home even a week after the movie was released. It seems like Hiddleston may have just managed to coin a new quote that can be carried on into future Marvel interviews.

Tom Hiddleston is Excited About Where Loki Season 2 Goes Next

While Tom Hiddleston might not be giving away anything about Loki’s future in Marvel’s movies, we already know for certain that the god of mischief will be returning in a second season of the Disney+ show Loki. After being originally expected to be a limited series, the very subtle reveal was made at the very end of season 1 with a little on-screen note announcing Loki would return. Of course, the series itself ended on the cliffhanger of Loki and Sylvie having managed to change reality and seemingly allowing Kang The Conqueror to enter the world, so there are a lot of questions to be answered in the new series.

When asked about Loki and his second season, Hiddleston said:

“[Playing Loki] is a source of eternal surprise and delight, the whole journey. It’s absolutely a part of my life now, and will always be. You know, just now in the bathroom, somebody came in, and said, ‘Loki!’ And I said, [indicates to himself] ‘Tom.’ And they went, ‘Sorry. Yeah.’ But it’s what people see. What can I say? It’s very much continuing to excite and challenge me… At the end of season 1, the story isn’t over. I think that’s really clear. Loki’s almost more unstable, and as turbulent and passionate and chaotic as he’s ever been. And maybe some of that needs resolution. There’s stuff to unpack.”
